Recurring Dreams
In 2023, as part of his senior composition recital, Nathan wrote Recurring Dreams, a fifteen minute piece in four movements for pierrot ensemble (flute, clarinet, violin, cello, piano, and percussion). After a very successful performance, Nathan recorded the ensemble in a professional studio. You can listen to the studio recording and follow along with the provided score below.
Program Notes:
“I’ve always been fascinated with where our minds go while asleep. After reflecting on my own dreams, I’ve discovered certain themes that show up regularly. These recurring dreams range from curious and playful, as in House and Cats, to anxious and nightmarish, as in Stairs and Tornadoes. I hope to convey the feeling of these dreams through the four movements and allow you to experience them as vividly as I do.” – Nathan Beverage
